Increased movement speed is given as an example of an augmentation that can be unlocked and upgraded using canisters.
How it works
Augmentation canisters can be found or bought throughout the game. The source says augmentations can be upgraded a maximum of four times; one augmentation can occupy each body area, and installations are permanent. Using an augmentation costs energy, restored with consumable biocells. The evidence does not state the speed increase per upgrade.
