Limit Level progression rules

Characters unlock Limit Break techniques through level-specific uses or enemy kills, while Level 4 techniques require a manual after the other techniques are learned.

How it works

Each character has four Limit Levels, with one or two Limit Breaks in a level; Cait Sith and Vincent have exceptions to the usual counts. The first technique is available automatically. A level’s second technique is learned by using its first technique a required number of times, while a level’s first technique is unlocked by personally killing a required number of enemies. A Level 4 technique requires a unique item after the character learns all the others.
