On-field Geo claymore damage dealer who converts DEF and Superlative Superstrength stacks into heavy charged slashes.
Released Dec 14, 2021
Arataki Itto is a Geo claymore user built around gaining Superlative Superstrength stacks and spending them on stamina-free Arataki Kesagiri charged slashes. His burst converts his attacks to Geo, raises attack speed, and increases ATK based on DEF, but also lowers his Elemental and Physical RES by 20%. Consider him when you want an on-field attacker who can build stacks through normal hits, Ushi, and burst attacks, then spend them in a continuous charged sequence. His charged sequence itself gains attack speed and interruption resistance as it continues. Since the burst ends when Itto leaves the field, the damage state rewards keeping him active during its duration.

Arataki Itto GUIDE
Understand Arataki Itto
Useful when…
Build Superlative Superstrength with the second and fourth normal strikes, Ushi, and burst combo hits.
Spend stacks on stamina-free Arataki Kesagiri charged slashes.
Use Ushi's taunt and stack generation to support his on-field sequence.
Gain an extra wood log chance when party members collect wood from trees.
How does he gain and spend stacks?
Fight Club Legend gives Itto one stack when his second normal attack hits and two when his fourth hits, up to five stacks. Gaining stacks refreshes the duration of existing stacks, which last 60 seconds. His normal combo also does not immediately reset after sprinting or using his skill. Holding charged attack with stacks starts consecutive Arataki Kesagiri slashes without consuming Stamina; each slash consumes one stack, and the final consumed stack produces a powerful finishing slash. Without stacks, the charged attack is a single Saichimonji Slash that costs 20 Stamina. During consecutive Kesagiri slashes, Arataki Ichiban increases the next slash's attack speed by 10% per slash up to 30%, and increases interruption resistance. These effects end when he stops the sequence.
What do Ushi and the burst add?
Masatsu Zetsugi throws Ushi, dealing Geo damage on hit and granting one stack when it hits an opponent. Ushi remains for six seconds, taunts nearby opponents, and has HP based on Itto's Max HP. When Ushi takes damage, Itto gains one stack at most every two seconds; when it leaves because its HP reaches zero or its duration ends, it grants one more stack. Itto can have only one Ushi on the field. Royal Descent converts normal, charged, and plunging attacks to Geo, increases attack speed, and adds ATK based on DEF for 11 seconds. Its burst combo gives stacks on hits from the first and third strikes. In return, Itto's Elemental and Physical RES decrease by 20%, and the state ends if he leaves the field.
Which investments align with the kit?
The Normal Attack talent covers Itto's stack-generating normal combo and his charged Kesagiri sequence, so it is a central investment for a charged-slash play pattern. The burst merits investment for the Geo-converted field window, while the skill improves Ushi's hit and related damage. His passive increases Kesagiri damage by 35% of his DEF, and the burst also converts DEF into ATK; these facts make DEF relevant to multiple named parts of his kit. Ascension and talent tracks have separate material requirements, so choose the talents around whether your use centers on normal-to-charged sequences, burst time, or Ushi.
What can undermine his sequence?
Charged Kesagiri consumes one stack per slash; entering with too few stacks shortens the sequence and removes access to the powerful final slash once the last stack is spent. Ushi can help build stacks, but only one Ushi can be present at a time. Leaving the field ends the burst state, so switching out forfeits its remaining duration. Remember the burst's 20% RES reduction when judging incoming damage, and avoid assuming its defense penalty is offset by a defensive effect not stated here.
Limitations and tradeoffs
Charged Kesagiri is stamina-free with stacks but consumes one stack per slash.
The burst converts DEF into ATK and attacks to Geo, while reducing Itto's Elemental and Physical RES by 20%.
Ushi can taunt and grant stacks but only one can be deployed at a time.
Common mistakes to avoid
Starting a charged Kesagiri sequence without enough stacks for the desired number of slashes.
Switching Itto out during his burst and expecting the state to persist.
Ignoring the burst's 20% Elemental and Physical RES reduction.
Effects and reference details
Fight Club Legend · Normal attack
Normal Attack Performs up to 4 consecutive strikes. When the 2nd and 4th strikes hit opponents, Itto will gain 1 and 2 stacks of Superlative Superstrength, respectively. Max 5 stacks. Triggering this effect will refresh the current duration of any existing stacks.
Additionally, Itto's Normal Attack combo does not immediately reset after sprinting or using his Elemental Skill, "Masatsu Zetsugi: Akaushi Burst!"
Charged Attack When holding to perform a Charged Attack, Itto unleashes a series of Arataki Kesagiri slashes without consuming Stamina. Instead, each Arataki Kesagiri slash consumes 1 stack of Superlative Superstrength. When the final stack is consumed, Itto delivers a powerful final slash. If no stacks of Superlative Superstrength are available, Itto will perform a single Saichimonji Slash.
Plunging Attack Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
