Understand Candace
Useful when…
Granting Hydro Infusion to sword, claymore, and polearm users under her Burst effect.
Increasing Elemental Normal Attack damage for the active character under Prayer of the Crimson Crown.
Triggering up to three Hydro waves as characters take the field under the Burst effect.
Blocking an attack with her Skill's hold barrier.
What the Burst grants
Sacred Rite: Wagtail's Tide deals area Hydro damage based on Candace's Max HP and grants Prayer of the Crimson Crown to the active character for 9 seconds. The effect increases Elemental damage dealt with Normal Attacks by 20%. Whenever a character takes the field, it triggers a Hydro wave, up to three waves. Sword, claymore, and polearm users under the effect gain Hydro Infusion. The Burst costs 60 Energy and has a 15-second cooldown.
Skill barrier and counter
Sacred Rite: Heron's Sanctum has a tap strike and a hold mode that raises a barrier absorbing damage based on Candace's Max HP. The barrier absorbs Hydro damage 250% more effectively and lasts until the Skill is unleashed. After a certain hold period, release, expiry, or barrier break, Candace performs a leaping Hydro strike. If Candace is hit during the hold, Aegis of Crossed Arrows makes the Skill finish charging instantly.
Conditional damage scaling
Celestial Dome of Sand adds 0.5% damage for every 1,000 Max HP Candace has when affected characters deal Elemental damage with Normal Attacks under Prayer of the Crimson Crown. This increase is conditional on both the Burst effect and Elemental Normal Attack damage. Max HP also supports her Skill barrier and Burst damage.
Who can use the effects
Hydro Infusion is specified for sword, claymore, and polearm users. The Burst's damage bonus applies to Elemental Normal Attacks, and its field-entry waves are limited to three.
Limitations and tradeoffs
Her Hydro Infusion and Normal Attack bonus have specific weapon and attack-type conditions.
The Burst triggers at most three field-entry Hydro waves.
Her Skill barrier is part of its hold action.
Common mistakes to avoid
Assuming every party member simultaneously receives Prayer of the Crimson Crown.
Applying the passive's 0.5% per 1,000 Max HP increase outside Elemental Normal Attack damage under the Burst effect.
Expecting Hydro Infusion for weapon types other than sword, claymore, and polearm.
