Understand Kamisato Ayaka
Useful when…
- Deal repeated Cryo damage with the burst when its forward-moving path can contact opponents.
- Use the skill for nearby area Cryo damage and its temporary Normal and Charged Attack damage increase.
- Use her alternate sprint’s Cryo application to gain the stated Cryo damage bonus and recover stamina.
How does her damage work?
Kamisato Art: Soumetsu sends a Frostflake Seki no To forward. It repeatedly slashes enemies it touches, then explodes at the end of its five-second duration for area Cryo damage. It has a 20-second cooldown and costs 80 Energy. Her skill, Hyouka, launches nearby opponents and deals area Cryo damage; its cooldown is 10 seconds. After using Hyouka, her Normal and Charged Attacks deal 30% increased damage for six seconds.
How does her sprint support Cryo play?
When the Cryo application at the end of Kamisato Art: Senho hits an opponent, Ayaka restores 10 stamina and gains 18% Cryo damage bonus for 10 seconds. This makes landing that application a condition for both effects. Her ordinary attacks include five rapid Normal Attack strikes and a Charged Attack that consumes stamina to unleash three sword-ki hits; the skill’s six-second buff can support those attacks.
What should you prioritize investing in?
If you use Ayaka chiefly for the moving storm, prioritize her burst talent; it contains repeated Cryo hits and a final area explosion. The skill is a useful next investment when you want its area hit and its six-second Normal and Charged Attack buff. Normal-attack levels matter more if she spends meaningful field time attacking during that buff. Ascension and the three combat talent tracks are separate investments; the listed level-9-to-10 examples for each talent require a Crown of Insight and other materials.
What can make her burst miss value?
The storm moves forward continuously, so its repeated hits depend on opponents being in its path; the description does not state that it tracks targets. Its 80-Energy cost and 20-second cooldown make it a substantial ability to invest in, but simply casting it on cooldown is not guaranteed by the available information to be practical. The sprint passive’s stamina recovery and Cryo bonus require its ending Cryo application to hit an opponent.
What utility does she provide outside combat?
When crafting Weapon Ascension Materials, Ayaka has a 10% chance to receive double the product. This is a crafting bonus and does not change the combat effects of her skill, burst, or sprint.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Her signature burst costs 80 Energy and has a 20-second cooldown.
- The burst travels forward, so repeated hits depend on the storm’s path crossing opponents.
- Her sprint passive requires its ending Cryo application to hit an opponent.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Firing the moving burst without accounting for its forward path; its description does not say that it tracks opponents.
- Expecting the sprint’s stamina recovery and Cryo damage bonus when its ending Cryo application misses.
- Overlooking the six-second duration of the Normal and Charged Attack buff after using Hyouka.
