Understand Prized Isshin Blade
Useful when…
- Using its periodic area hit and healing during the story encounter where this temporary form is available.
- Comparing its self-sustain against a version of the form that has no listed healing effect.
What triggers the effect?
A Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attack must hit an opponent to release the Accursed Spirit. It deals area damage equal to 180% of ATK and restores HP equal to 100% of ATK. The effect can trigger once every 8 seconds; these percentages describe the weapon effect and do not imply that it triggers on every hit.
What does the wielder give up?
The weapon decreases the wielder’s damage by 50%. That penalty is a major limitation for a sword user whose contribution depends on dealing damage. The periodic area hit and healing may be useful in the temporary encounter, but the listed effect does not remove the penalty or provide continuous healing.
How should it be treated as equipment?
This is a temporary story-quest form, with 42.401 Base ATK and an ATK secondary stat. Quest weapon forms do not inherit ordinary leveling, so do not plan its use around standard weapon-level investment. Its listed trigger requires an attack to connect; simply equipping the sword does not release the spirit.
How does the related form differ?
A related Prized Isshin Blade form has the same listed attack trigger, 180% ATK area damage, 8-second trigger limit, and 50% wielder damage decrease, but its effect description does not include HP restoration. The healing described here is therefore a meaningful distinction between the forms.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The triggered effect adds area damage and restores HP, while the wielder takes a 50% damage decrease.
- Its temporary story-quest availability and lack of ordinary weapon leveling limit its role as a long-term equipment investment.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming every attack triggers the effect; it is limited to once every 8 seconds.
- Overlooking the 50% decrease to the wielder’s damage.
- Treating the temporary quest form as a normally levelable weapon.
