Yet Hope Is Priceless GUIDE
Understand Yet Hope Is Priceless
Useful when…
- An Erudition wearer who deals follow-up attack damage.
- A CRIT-focused wearer whose CRIT DMG can exceed the stated threshold.
How do the CRIT DMG and follow-up effects scale?
At S1, it grants 16% CRIT Rate. For every 20 percentage points of the wearer’s CRIT DMG above 120%, their follow-up attack damage increases by 12%, up to 4 stacks. For example, 160% CRIT DMG is 40 percentage points above the threshold, corresponding to two stacks. When battle starts or after the wearer uses a Basic ATK, their Ultimate and follow-up damage ignore 20% of the target’s DEF for 2 turns. At S5, the CRIT Rate becomes 28%, the follow-up increase is 20% per stack, and the DEF ignore is 36%; the thresholds and durations remain the same.
What attack pattern suits it?
Its follow-up bonus rewards CRIT DMG above 120%, while the DEF ignore applies to Ultimate or follow-up damage during its 2-turn window. The Basic ATK trigger can renew that window, so consider how often the wearer uses Basic ATKs as well as their Ultimate and follow-up attacks. A Dream Scented in Wheat offers CRIT Rate and direct Ultimate and follow-up damage bonuses without the listed CRIT DMG threshold. After the Charmony Fall instead provides Break Effect and a SPD boost after Ultimate. A Star That Lights the Night refers to Assist Skills, a distinct condition; its effect should not be assumed to match standard follow-up attacks.
What does raising it change?
Promotion advances the Light Cone through six stages. Each superimposition step consumes one S1 copy and improves CRIT Rate, follow-up damage gained per stack, and DEF ignore. Consider promotion for level progression. Extra copies are most relevant when the wearer uses the effects that scale with CRIT DMG and can refresh the DEF-ignore window.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The follow-up bonus starts only above 120% CRIT DMG and caps at four stacks.
- The DEF ignore lasts 2 turns and is tied to battle start or the wearer’s Basic ATK.
- Superimposition requires additional copies.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating 120% CRIT DMG as the first follow-up damage stack; the effect counts CRIT DMG above that threshold.
- Assuming the DEF ignore applies to all attack types or lasts beyond its 2-turn duration.
