Understand Topaz & Numby
Useful when…
- Focusing follow-up damage on the enemy marked with Proof of Debt.
- Advancing Numby’s action through ally attacks on marked enemies.
- Searching for nearby basic treasures and Trotters with Numby.
Proof of Debt and Numby
Topaz’s Skill applies Proof of Debt to one enemy and increases the follow-up damage that enemy receives by 25%. Only the most recently marked target has Proof of Debt. If no enemy has the mark when an ally’s turn starts or an ally takes action, Topaz marks a random enemy. The Skill’s damage counts as a follow-up attack. Numby has a default Speed of 80 and launches a follow-up attack against a marked enemy when it takes action; this states its default Speed, not a guaranteed position in combat order. When an ally’s follow-up attack hits a marked enemy, Numby’s action advances by 50%, except during Numby’s own turn. During Windfall Bonanza, ally Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate hits on marked enemies also advance Numby. The state ends after two attacks.
Practical use and investment
Use the Skill to mark the enemy whose follow-up damage you want to amplify, bearing in mind that marking another enemy moves the mark. The Ultimate improves Numby’s damage multiplier and CRIT DMG and enables its stated action advance when allies hit marked enemies with Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate. Skill, Ultimate, and Talent levels support the mark, Windfall Bonanza, and Numby’s ordinary follow-up attack. Bonus traces include Fire damage and CRIT Rate. Topaz’s Technique summons Numby to search for nearby basic treasures and Trotters; it also restores Energy after Numby’s first attack in the next battle and describes limited credit and Universe rewards.
Limits and Technique rewards
Proof of Debt applies only to the most recent target. Numby’s advancement from allied follow-up attacks cannot trigger during its own turn. The Technique’s credit bonus has a 10,000-credit daily cap. It describes additional Cosmic Fragments and a small chance of one random Curio in Simulated or Divergent Universe; those rewards are not stated as guaranteed. Numby disappears if Topaz is downed.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The follow-up damage bonus applies only to the most recently marked target.
- Numby’s action advances depend on the marked target and specified ally actions.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Ignoring that applying Proof of Debt to another target moves the mark.
- Assuming Numby’s default Speed guarantees a specific place in combat order.
- Treating Universe rewards or Curio chances as guaranteed, or the credit cap as unlimited.
