Yunli answers enemy attacks with counters and can use her Ultimate to taunt enemies into a stronger counter window. Consider her when enemy attacks can trigger her Talent and the party benefits from her self-healing and counter damage.

Useful when…

  • Counter enemies that attack Yunli.

Talent counters and healing

When an enemy attacks Yunli, her Talent restores 15 Energy and immediately counters the attacker, dealing Physical damage to it and adjacent enemies. If there is no valid immediate target, the counter targets a random enemy. Her Skill also heals Yunli based on ATK and a flat amount while hitting one enemy and adjacent targets, giving her a modest self-recovery option alongside the counters.

Parry and counter modes

Her Ultimate spends 120 Energy, enters Parry, and taunts all enemies until the end of the next ally's or enemy's turn. It increases the CRIT DMG of her next counter. If an enemy attack triggers the Talent during Parry, she uses Intuit: Cull: a hit on the target and adjacent enemies followed by six damage instances against random single enemies. If no counter occurs, Parry ends with Intuit: Slash against a random enemy and adjacent targets. Damage from this ability is considered Ultimate damage.

Where investment goes

Talent and Ultimate levels are sensible priorities for a counter-centered setup; Skill levels improve her area attack and self-heal. ATK and CRIT Rate traces support her damage. Her Technique grants Ward for 20 seconds; entering battle by attacking or being attacked immediately casts Intuit: Cull on a random enemy and increases that attack's damage. This opening effect is distinct from the Ultimate's Parry window.

Timing and risk

Parry is brief: it lasts only until the end of the next ally's or enemy's turn. Its strongest Cull sequence requires an enemy attack during that window; otherwise the Ultimate still produces Slash, but against a random target. The taunt may direct enemy attacks toward Yunli, so her survival matters while she is drawing that attention.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Her strongest Ultimate counter depends on an enemy attacking during the short Parry window.
  • The no-trigger Slash targets a random enemy.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Expecting Intuit: Cull if no enemy attacks during Parry.
  • Assuming her no-trigger Slash will target the enemy selected by the player.
  • Confusing Technique's opening Ward counter with the Ultimate's Parry.
