Understand Netherite Nautilus Armor
Useful when…
- Protect a tamed nautilus with the armor’s listed defensive attributes.
- Use the smithing upgrade when you have the required diamond nautilus armor, netherite ingot, and smithing template.
Protection
When equipped, it gives the nautilus 19 armor points, 3 armor toughness, and 10% knockback resistance. These attributes apply in the body slot; the item’s fire damage resistance does not establish an additional protection effect for the nautilus.
Equipping in Java
Hold the armor and use it on a tamed nautilus. The item is configured to equip on interaction and is restricted to entities that can wear nautilus armor. The reference’s inventory-slot method is marked Bedrock Edition only, so it does not describe Java equipping.
Smithing upgrade
The listed one-step upgrade uses one Diamond Nautilus Armor, one Netherite Ingot, and one Smithing Template. These are the specified upgrade materials; no template acquisition method is established here.
Item limits
This is body-slot mob equipment, not player armor. The component data lists no enchantments; the supplied Java reference does not establish an enchantment or repair method.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Its defensive attributes apply when equipped by an eligible nautilus.
- The listed upgrade requires a netherite ingot and smithing template as well as diamond nautilus armor.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the armor’s attributes as player protection.
- Using the Bedrock-only inventory method as Java instructions.
- Assuming a template acquisition route or an unsupported enchantment or repair method.
