Machine research and blueprints
Research Center prototypes unlock machine upgrade blueprints; a blueprint is required before building an advanced machine, even when its construction materials are available.
How it works
TheGamer says Data Discs can be unearthed in Abandoned Ruins or bought from Rocky at Eufala Salvage. Research is started through Qi or the lab machine, and the blueprint is mailed after a few days. Once prototyped, the upgrade appears in the Handbook and can be built at the Assembly Station. Materials can be drawn directly from storage during construction.
