Spell and modifier mana costs
Spells and modifiers consume mana when cast. Their combined costs can make a wand ineffective in extended fights if its mana supply cannot keep up.
How it works
The wand wiki says mana is spent for each spell and modifier in a cast. For trigger and timer spells, the cost assumes each spell in the chain will fire once, even if the trigger condition is not fulfilled. Repeated trigger activations do not add further mana cost.
When it helps
Check the costs of the whole cast, including trigger contents, against the wand’s mana capacity and recharge.
The tradeoff
Filling more slots can add capability while increasing mana drain.
Your next step
Review the combined mana cost before relying on a wand for sustained combat.
