Understand Acidic Spittle
Useful when…
- Adding periodic target blinding to a Vizier Predasite companion.
- Using a companion precept for both disruption and a small listed Corrosive damage effect.
Effect and rank scaling
At rank 0, the precept spits every 8 seconds at an enemy within 7.5 m, blinds it for 3 seconds, and deals 30 Corrosive damage. At rank 2, it acts every 6 seconds within 22.5 m, blinds for 9 seconds, and deals 90 damage. Rank 3 reaches a 5-second interval, 30 m range, 12-second blind, and 120 Corrosive damage.
Companion fit
This is a Vizier Predasite precept with Penjaga polarity, maximum rank 3, and listed base drain 0. Its described target must be within the precept’s range when it acts. The effect provides periodic disruption rather than a player-controlled attack or a continuous damage field.
Rank and investment
Listed rank-ups cost 30, 60, and 120 Endo and 1,449, 2,898, and 5,796 credits. Rank increases improve several parts of the effect at once: the target range expands, the blind lasts longer, damage rises, and the interval shortens. Since base drain is listed as 0, the main stated investment tradeoff is fusion cost and the precept choice, rather than capacity drain.
Damage or healing utility
Iatric Mycelium instead releases spores every 8 seconds to heal the companion and its allies for 300 Health over 5 seconds. It serves a healing role, while Acidic Spittle blinds an enemy and deals Corrosive damage. They are different utility choices rather than equivalent precepts.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The effect acts periodically and requires a target within range.
- The listed damage is modest relative to its described crowd-control utility.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the companion can affect targets outside the rank-dependent range.
- Treating the 5-second interval at rank 3 as continuous damage.
