What does it do while veiled?

Equipping the received unknown Riven turns it into a veiled mod and reveals a challenge. The Archgun carrying the veiled mod must remain in your equipped loadout while you complete that challenge. The challenge weapon is not necessarily the weapon the Riven will be assigned to after unveiling. While veiled, it grants no bonuses or curses, uses no mod capacity, cannot be upgraded, and takes up a Riven slot.

How should you evaluate it after unveiling?

Unveiling reveals the Riven's assignment, attributes, polarity, and mod space. It will apply to one weapon and its variants, so assess the actual assigned Archgun and the actual roll before investing. Rivens have two or three bonuses and may also have a negative effect; that drawback can be severe. Their weapon assignment and polarity do not change through cycling, while Kuva cycling changes the attributes and can change their number. You can choose to keep either the old or new roll.

What are the limits and costs to consider?

Once unveiled, the Riven has its own Mastery Rank requirement, separate from the weapon, and cannot be equipped alongside another Riven. Its polarity can be any of Madurai, Naramon, or Vazarin regardless of its attributes. Cycling costs Kuva; decide whether a new set of attributes is worth that resource only after judging the existing roll. This veiled class entry does not specify a particular assignment, roll, polarity, rank requirement, or upgrade cost.

Limitations and tradeoffs

• Unveiling reveals whether the eventual assignment and attributes are useful, but the challenge does not disclose that eventual assignment.
• Kuva cycling can change the number and values of attributes, but does not change the weapon assignment or polarity.
