Understand Axios Javelineers
Useful when…
- Use on Styanax to add javelin-throwing Specters and extend vortex duration by impaling an enemy.
What does the augment add?
When Axios Javelin is used, a pair of Styanax Specters spawn and throw javelins. Their impacts create vortexes. Impaling an enemy increases vortex duration; the extension is +2 seconds at rank 0, +4 seconds at rank 2, and +5 seconds at rank 3.
When is it useful?
This augment adds crowd-control utility to Axios Javelin through impact vortexes, with longer vortex duration when an enemy is impaled. The extension is conditional: the described duration increase requires an impale. It does not describe an Overguard effect or a critical-damage increase.
How should I invest?
It has three ranks, Zenurik polarity, and base drain 6. The listed fusion costs progress from 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits for rank 0 to 1, to 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits for rank 2 to 3. Rank raises the impale extension from 2 seconds to 5 seconds at maximum; prioritize those ranks if the additional vortex duration is valuable to your ability use.
How does it differ from other Styanax augments?
Intrepid Stand modifies Final Stand and grants Overguard when its javelins damage enemies. Tharros Lethality modifies Tharros Strike and increases critical damage on enemies hit, with a doubled bonus for Spearguns. These affect different abilities and goals, so they are not direct replacements for Axios Javelineers' vortex extension.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Uses a Warframe mod slot for a specific ability augment.
- The duration extension depends on impaling an enemy.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the longer vortex duration without impaling an enemy.
- Confusing Axios Javelin with Final Stand or Tharros Strike.
