Understand Boreal's Contempt
Useful when…
- Equip on a polearm when its melee damage and Status Damage bonuses support the build.
Effect and rank values
At maximum rank, Boreal's Contempt adds +90% Melee Damage and +60% Status Damage. Rank 0 begins at +15% and +10%, while rank 3 gives +60% and +40%. These are separate listed bonuses; the mod does not describe a status chance increase.
Fit and fusion
This is a standard Polearms mod with Madurai polarity, base drain 4, and maximum rank 5. The listed costs rise from 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits for the first rank to 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits for rank 4 to 5. Higher ranks improve both bonuses but require more capacity and resources.
Keep the stance slot distinct
Bleeding Willow and Shimmering Blight are standard polearm stance mods, with descriptions emphasizing different combo styles. Argent Scourge is a Conclave stance. These occupy the stance category, whereas Boreal's Contempt is a standard mod; they represent different slot functions and do not replace its damage bonuses.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The two bonuses consume a standard mod slot and maximum rank needs substantially more Endo, Credits, and capacity than early ranks.
- Status Damage is not the same stat as Status Chance.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Confusing Status Damage with Status Chance, or treating this standard mod as a polearm stance.
