Understand Cold Arrival
Useful when…
- Deal area Cold damage when dismounting from a K-Drive.
- Rank it for a larger damage radius when that dismount condition is useful.
What happens on dismount?
At rank 0, dismounting deals 100 Cold damage within 1 meter. At rank 2, it deals 300 within 3 meters; at rank 3, 400 within 4 meters. This is triggered by dismounting, not by grinding or landing a trick.
Equipment and related effects
Cold Arrival is a standard K-Drive mod with Madurai polarity, maximum rank 3, and base drain 4. Kinetic Friction instead releases Electricity damage after grinding and landing a trick; Thrash Landing creates an explosion when landing a trick; Bomb The Landin’ triggers a slam shockwave by tapping and holding Grind in the air. Those conditions differ from Cold Arrival’s dismount trigger.
How much to rank it?
Example fusion costs are 20 Endo and 966 credits for rank 0→1, 40 Endo and 1,932 credits for 1→2, and 80 Endo and 3,864 credits for 2→3. The rank progression improves both the listed damage and radius. Invest to the level that makes the expanded reach worthwhile for your K-Drive use.
Avoid trigger confusion
The effect requires a dismount, and its listed radius is measured in meters. Do not expect the damage merely from grinding, tricks, or riding past enemies; the comparison mods have their own separate triggers.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- It only deals damage on dismount, so its benefit depends on that action occurring near enemies.
- It uses a K-Drive mod slot.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the effect to trigger on a trick landing or grind.
- Misreading the rank values as damage without a radius condition.
- Confusing meters of radius with a diameter.
