Understand Corrupt Charge
Useful when…
- Add initial Combo to a melee setup.
- Consider it when front-loaded Combo is valuable and reduced Combo Duration is manageable.
Effect and penalty
At maximum rank, Corrupt Charge grants +30 Initial Combo and -50% Combo Duration. Rank 0 gives +7.5 Initial Combo and -12.5% duration; rank 2 gives +22.5 and -37.5%. The two effects come together, so the duration penalty applies whenever the initial Combo bonus is used.
Compatibility and ranking
It is a standard Melee mod with Madurai polarity, base drain 4, and maximum rank 3. The example rank steps cost 30, 60, then 120 Endo, and 1,449, 2,898, then 5,796 Credits. Each rank increases starting Combo while also worsening the duration reduction.
Other Combo-related options
Body Count adds 12 seconds of Combo Duration. Drifting Contact adds 10 seconds of Combo Duration and +40% Status Chance. Covert Lethality instead grants +16 Initial Combo and +100% Finisher Damage. These have different effects: duration additions address Corrupt Charge's drawback, while Covert Lethality offers a different initial Combo amount and a finisher bonus. Their listed stats alone do not establish which combination will suit a particular weapon.

Limitations and tradeoffs
- The initial Combo comes with reduced Combo Duration.
- Ranking increases both the benefit and the penalty, with rising fusion costs.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Reading the initial Combo bonus without accounting for the simultaneous duration penalty.
- Assuming Body Count or Drifting Contact has the same initial Combo effect; their listed benefits differ.
