Electromagnetic Shielding GUIDE

Understand Electromagnetic Shielding

Useful when…

  • Protect nearby allies from a portion of incoming damage while blocking.
  • Use a shield-based support setup where staying close to allies is practical.

Effect and conditions

At maximum rank, while blocking, the mod redirects 50% of damage taken by allies within 12 meters to the player. At rank 0 it redirects 25% within 2 meters; rank 3 gives 40% within 8 meters. Blocking and proximity are both required by the listed effect. Redirected damage is taken by you, so the benefit comes with a direct survival cost.

Fit and investment

This standard Ack & Brunt mod occupies an Exilus slot, has Vazarin polarity, and base drain 4. It has five ranks. The example cost for rank 4 to 5 is 320 Endo and 15,456 Credits. Higher ranks increase both the redirected fraction and the radius, so rank it according to how often you can block near allies and tolerate taking the transferred damage.

Acquisition note

Kela De Thaym is listed as a source for this mod. The listed chance is not a guarantee of receiving it on a given attempt.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • It reduces the share of damage allies take only by transferring that share to you.
  • Its protection depends on blocking and staying within the radius of affected allies.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Expecting the mod to redirect damage while not blocking.
  • Treating the redirected portion as damage prevented for the whole group without accounting for the damage you take.
