Energizing Shot

Pistol Exilus energy-orb pickup mod

Released Mar 24, 2020

Energizing Shot lets a compatible pistol shoot Energy Orbs to collect them, increasing their effect by a rank-dependent amount. Consider it when you can reliably target orbs and want this pistol utility in your Exilus slot.

Energizing Shot GUIDE

Understand Energizing Shot

Useful when…

  • Collecting Energy Orbs by shooting them with a compatible pistol.
  • Adding utility to a pistol setup when its Exilus slot is available.

Effect and compatibility

At rank 0, shooting an Energy Orb lets you obtain it with +10% extra effect; rank 5 raises that bonus to +60%, and max rank 10 reaches +110%. It is for Pistol (No AoE) weapons and is an Exilus mod with Madurai polarity. It is explicitly incompatible with Concealed Explosives.

Ranking tradeoff

The mod has no base drain and a maximum rank of 10. Its listed fusion costs rise steeply at higher ranks: the step from rank 9 to 10 costs 15,360 Endo and 741,888 Credits. Rank it toward that ceiling when the larger orb-effect bonus is worth those costs for your use; lower ranks already provide the same shooting-to-collect effect with a smaller bonus.

Practical limitation

The effect requires shooting an Energy Orb and using a compatible non-AoE pistol. It does not describe a general increase to pistol damage or an automatic pickup effect without shooting the orb.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • The additional orb effect requires actively shooting Energy Orbs.
  • High ranks have substantial listed Endo and Credit costs.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Trying to equip it on an AoE pistol or alongside Concealed Explosives.
  • Treating its bonus as a general pistol damage increase.
