Understand Aeolak
Useful when…
- Automatic primary fire with Impact, Slash, Puncture, and Radiation damage.
- A charged alternate projectile with its own listed damage and a separate Blast explosion entry.
- A rifle with 100 listed accuracy, a 40-round magazine, and two Madurai polarities.
What the two fire modes do
Normal Attack fires automatically at 6 attacks per second. Its projectile lists 15 Impact, 17 Slash, 23 Puncture, and 5 Radiation damage, with 21% critical chance, a 2.3× critical multiplier, and 33% status chance. Alt-Fire charges for 0.3 seconds and has a listed attack speed of 1.5; its projectile entry lists 58.2 Impact, 29.1 Slash, and 9.7 Puncture damage. The separate Alt-Fire Explosion entry lists 789 Blast damage and a 50% reduction at 7 m.
Practical handling and investment
The rifle has a 40-round magazine and a listed reload time of 2 seconds. Its two Madurai polarities are relevant when fitting mods that match those slots. Its 100 listed accuracy and projectile primary mode support aimed firing, while the alternate mode trades the primary’s listed 6 attacks per second for a charge and a slower listed attack speed. It requires Mastery 10 and has a rank cap of 30.
Construction
Construction lists 15,000 credits and a 12-hour build time, plus one each of the Duviri Rifle Barrel, Blueprint, Receiver, and Stock, and 50 VoidWraithItem. The ingredient label is presented as supplied; no further in-game name is established here.
When another rifle may fit
Consider Argonak if its described laser sighting system and single or automatic fire suit your preference. Trumna is another option to consider if you want an automatic primary and an arcing alternate projectile that explodes on impact. These descriptions identify different handling features; they do not establish that either rifle is a direct upgrade over Aeolak.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Alt-Fire charges for 0.3 seconds and has a listed attack speed of 1.5, compared with the primary mode’s 6 attacks per second.
- Alt-Fire’s projectile and explosion are separate entries with different damage types.
- The explosion entry lists a 50% reduction at 7 m; this does not specify a full falloff curve or blast radius.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Using the primary mode’s 6 attacks-per-second value to describe Alt-Fire.
- Attributing the explosion’s Blast damage to the alternate projectile entry.
- Treating the listed 50% reduction at 7 m as a complete falloff curve or a stated blast radius.
