Understand Helstrum
Useful when…
- Equip as a compatible MOA companion weapon.
- Consider its distinct projectile and explosive attack profiles when choosing a companion weapon.
Two attack modes
The normal attack is a projectile with 10 Puncture damage and 4.95 Impact damage. The separate explosion deals 6 Impact and 24 Heat. Both attack entries list 5% critical chance, a 1.5× critical multiplier, and 30% status chance. The top-level 39 damage total does not describe either mode on its own.
Firing and reload
Helstrum has a burst trigger and a 2-second reload. Its listed fire rate is 0.91, while the attack entries list a speed of 0.25 and projectile speed of 10 for the normal attack.
Compare attack behavior
Multron also launches projectiles and has a separate radial attack, but its darts embed before exploding and the radial attack lists Blast damage. Artax is described as a sentinel-mounted ice beam, while Akaten is a Hound melee weapon; their described behavior and companion types differ from Helstrum's.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The projectile and explosion have separate damage profiles.
- The listed critical chance is 5% on both attack entries.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Combining the projectile and explosion damage into a single attack profile.
- Omitting the projectile's 10 Puncture damage or the explosion's 6 Impact and 24 Heat.
