Understand Vulcax
Useful when…
- Consider it when a companion weapon with a charge trigger and a listed 500 Heat Impact attack fits your setup.
- Account for the separate 100 Blast Radial Attack and its listed falloff when assessing its attack properties.
Two attack modes
The Impact attack is a hit-scan shot dealing 500 Heat damage, with 20% critical chance, a 2.5× critical multiplier, and 10% status chance. The separate Radial Attack is an AoE dealing 100 Blast damage, with the same critical values and 20% status chance. Its listed falloff is 50% over 0–5 distance.
Trigger and magazine
Vulcax uses a Charge trigger and has a listed fire rate of 1, a one-round magazine, and a three-second reload. These stats describe its trigger and handling, but do not specify charge duration or the complete firing cycle. Keep the Impact attack’s 500 Heat damage separate from the Radial Attack’s 100 Blast damage.
Requirement and comparisons
Vulcax has a Mastery requirement of 14 and a listed build time of 86,400 seconds. Cryotra is described as firing icy grenades with lingering chill; Akaten is a Hound melee weapon dealing Puncture and Slash; Artax is described as a Sentinel-mounted ice beam. These descriptions do not establish how the weapons compare in performance to Vulcax.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The weapon has a one-round magazine and a three-second reload.
- The Radial Attack deals Blast damage with 50% falloff over 0–5 distance.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Combining the 500 Heat Impact attack and the 100 Blast Radial Attack into one mode.
- Assuming the listed trigger and handling stats specify charge duration or the complete firing cycle.
- Assuming the radial attack’s falloff establishes useful coverage against nearby targets.
