Understand Fleeting Expertise
Useful when…
- Use on a Warframe build that values higher Ability Efficiency and can tolerate lower Ability Duration.
Effect and slot
Fleeting Expertise is a standard Warframe mod with Naramon polarity and base drain 6. At rank 0 it grants +10% Ability Efficiency and -10% Ability Duration; at rank 3 those values are +40% and -40%, and at rank 5 they are +60% and -60%. The two effects rise together, so higher efficiency also brings a larger duration penalty.
Rank investment
The listed rank-up costs are 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits from rank 0 to 1, 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits from rank 2 to 3, and 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits from rank 4 to 5. Since each rank strengthens both sides of the tradeoff, stopping short of maximum rank can be sensible when the build needs efficiency but cannot accept the full duration reduction.
Alternatives for different priorities
Augur Message supplies Ability Duration without the listed efficiency penalty. Archon Continuity also adds duration, plus a separate Corrosive-status effect when abilities inflict Toxin status. Blind Rage moves the tradeoff in the opposite direction, increasing Ability Strength while reducing Efficiency. These have distinct effects and do not directly reproduce Fleeting Expertise’s paired bonus and penalty.
Acquisition
The listed source is a Derelict Vault, with a 4.17% chance.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Ability Efficiency comes paired with an equal listed Ability Duration penalty.
- The mod has base drain 6, and higher ranks increase both sides of the tradeoff.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Ranking it up for Efficiency without accounting for the matching Ability Duration loss.
- Assuming it increases Ability Strength; that is not one of its listed effects.
