Understand Heartseeker
Useful when…
- Conclave dagger setups where the close-range lock-on effect is useful.
- Players willing to trade some blocking effectiveness for target lock-on.
What changes at each rank?
Heartseeker is a standard-slot Conclave mod for daggers. Rank 0 locks onto targets within 0.25 m and reduces Damage Block by 12.5%; rank 2 reaches 0.75 m and reduces it by 37.5%; rank 3 reaches 1 m and reduces it by 50%.
Is the higher rank worthwhile?
The mod reaches rank 3. Listed steps cost 30, 60, and 120 Endo and 1,449, 2,898, and 5,796 credits. Each rank increases lock-on distance while also increasing the blocking penalty. Choose a rank with both effects in mind rather than treating the extra range as a free improvement.
How is it different from dagger stances?
Homing Fang and Pointed Wind are Standard dagger stance mods with listed descriptions of their strike patterns. Piercing Fury is a Conclave dagger stance. Stances occupy a stance slot and describe fighting forms; Heartseeker is a standard-slot Conclave mod with a target lock-on and Damage Block tradeoff. They have distinct roles and slot types.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Greater lock-on distance comes with a larger reduction to Damage Block.
- The Conclave variant is restricted to dagger use in that mode.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Ranking for the extra lock-on range without considering the simultaneous Damage Block penalty.
- Confusing this standard-slot Conclave mod with a dagger stance mod.
