Understand Keep-Clean
Useful when…
- Test Keep-Clean as a possible vulnerability match for a Technocyte Coda.
- Equip the confirmed effective Antivirus mod for later Antivirus Mercies, tracking its remaining charges.
What it does and when it is consumed
A Technocyte Coda has one effective Antivirus mod. Test equipped Antivirus mods until the effective one is found. When a successful Antivirus Mercy brings the Malware Disinfection meter to 100% and sends the Coda to Earth Proxima, only the effective Antivirus mod loses one charge; the other equipped Antivirus mods are not consumed by that success.
Slots and charge tracking
A fresh Keep-Clean has three charges. Antivirus mods use dedicated Parazon slots without capacity drain or polarity. You can equip up to three distinct Antivirus mods, but not duplicate copies of the same mod. Green squares on the icon show remaining charges.
After its charges are spent
After three charges, Keep-Clean becomes Depleted and cannot be used for its Parazon purpose. Depleted mods can be broken down, sold for Credits, or transmuted; those are separate actions rather than a direct recharge. Its rank tracks charges consumed, not ordinary fusion upgrades.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Testing Keep-Clean can help determine the Coda’s effective Antivirus mod; successful use consumes a charge only if Keep-Clean is the effective mod.
- Once the effective mod is confirmed, retaining the other Antivirus mods in the loadout is unnecessary for this encounter’s vulnerability check; their slots can be used for Potency mods.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming all equipped Antivirus mods lose charges after a successful Antivirus Mercy; only the effective mod is consumed.
- Continuing to use three Antivirus slots after the effective mod is known when those other slots could hold Potency mods.
- Confusing Depleted status with an Endo upgrade rank.
