Understand Kitgun Riven Mod
Useful when…
- Complete its challenge to reveal the Riven’s assignment and attributes.
- Evaluate the unveiled weapon assignment and actual roll before deciding whether it suits your build.
Equipping it and completing the challenge
A veiled Kitgun Riven can be equipped on either a primary or secondary weapon of the eligible class. Keep the weapon carrying the veiled mod in your equipped loadout while completing the revealed challenge. That weapon does not determine the eventual assignment, which is revealed only after unveiling. While veiled, the Riven grants no bonuses or curses, uses no mod capacity, cannot be upgraded, and takes up a Riven slot.
Evaluating the unveiled roll
Unveiling reveals the Riven’s assignment, attributes, polarity, and mod space. It is assigned to a single weapon and its variants, and carries two or three bonuses; it may also have a negative stat. Evaluate the actual assignment and roll rather than treating the veiled class as a fixed stat mod. Kuva cycling changes the attributes and may change their number, but not the weapon assignment or polarity; you can choose between the old and new rolls.
Equipment limits and cycling
An unveiled Riven has its own Mastery Rank requirement, independent of the weapon, and cannot be equipped alongside another Riven. Its polarity can be Madurai, Naramon, or Vazarin regardless of its attributes. Cycling requires Kuva. This generic veiled entry does not establish the eventual assignment, roll, polarity, rank requirement, or upgrade cost.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The challenge does not determine or promise a particular eventual weapon assignment.
- Kuva cycling can change the attributes and their number, but not the assignment or polarity.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the weapon used for the challenge will be the eventual assignment.
- Expecting a veiled Riven to grant bonuses or use mod capacity.
- Equipping it alongside another Riven.
