How does unveiling work?

Equip the received ??? mod on a secondary weapon to make it Veiled and reveal its challenge. Keep that weapon in your equipped loadout while completing the challenge. The weapon used for the challenge does not determine the eventual Riven assignment. While Veiled, the mod takes a Riven slot but no mod capacity, grants no bonuses or curses, and cannot be upgraded.

What should I evaluate after unveiling?

Unveiling reveals the assigned weapon, attributes, polarity, mod space, and Mastery Rank requirement. Rivens have two or three bonuses and may also carry a negative stat, so consider the complete roll and its effect on the assigned weapon rather than treating this generic pistol entry as a guaranteed upgrade. An unveiled Riven applies to one weapon and its variants, and cannot be equipped alongside another Riven.

When is rerolling worth considering?

Cycling costs Kuva and changes the number and numerical values of attributes, while leaving the weapon assignment, rank, polarity, and Mastery Rank requirement unchanged. The old and new versions are shown so you can keep the one you prefer. Since this entry has no specific roll, there is no supported basis to recommend a reroll or an upgrade investment before seeing its unveiled attributes.

What are the main constraints?

A Veiled pistol Riven can be equipped only on a secondary weapon. After unveiling, check the actual assignment and Mastery Rank requirement before planning to use it. Do not expect bonuses during the challenge, or assume that the challenge weapon will be the eventual assigned weapon.

Limitations and tradeoffs

• Unveiling consumes a Riven slot while the mod is Veiled, though it uses no mod capacity in that state.
• Kuva cycling can change the attributes, but the generic entry provides no roll details to establish whether spending Kuva is worthwhile.
