Understand Precision Strike
Useful when…
- Improve reload speed after a direct grenade hit with the Tonkor.
- Choose it when a hit-triggered reload benefit is more useful than accuracy and projectile speed.
What triggers the effect?
A direct hit with the grenade activates increased Reload Speed for five seconds. The bonus is +37% at rank 0, +110% at rank 2, and +150% at rank 3. The trigger specifically requires a direct enemy hit; the inputs do not describe activation from an explosion that misses the target directly.
Where does it fit?
Precision Strike is a standard Tonkor mod with Naramon polarity and base drain 4. Precision Munition is a Conclave variant that increases Accuracy and Projectile Speed; it has distinct handling effects rather than Precision Strike's direct-hit reload trigger. The two descriptions identify different variants and purposes.
How should you rank it?
Rank progression increases the reload bonus while leaving the stated five-second duration and direct-hit condition intact. The examples list 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits for rank 0 to 1, 60 Endo and 2,898 Credits for rank 1 to 2, and 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits for rank 2 to 3. Invest further when the stronger reload benefit is worth those costs for a weapon use that can trigger it.
What can limit its value?
Without a direct hit, the listed trigger is not met. The five-second duration is temporary, so it does not establish a permanent reload-speed increase. Plan around the direct-hit condition rather than treating this as an unconditional Tonkor stat bonus.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The reload bonus requires a direct hit and lasts five seconds.
- Higher ranks improve the bonus but require increasing Endo and Credits.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting an indirect explosion hit to trigger the listed direct-hit effect.
- Treating the five-second reload bonus as permanent.
