Understand Proton Jet
Useful when…
- Rifle builds that can reliably attack while Wall Latched.
- Situational use when both critical and status chance are valuable.
What does it do?
At maximum rank, Proton Jet grants +120% Status Chance and +120% Critical Chance during a Wall Latch. At rank 0, each bonus is +30%; rank 2 grants +90% to each. The listed bonuses apply only during the latch condition.
Fit and investment
It is a standard rifle mod with Naramon polarity, a base drain of 4, and a maximum rank of 3. Fusion costs rise from 20 Endo and 966 Credits for rank 0 to 1, to 80 Endo and 3,864 Credits for rank 2 to 3. Since the effect requires Wall Latching, weigh the final-rank cost against how often you can use the condition in your play.
How does it compare?
Hammer Shot offers +60% Critical Damage and +80% Status Chance without a Wall Latch condition. Argon Scope grants +135% Critical Chance when aiming after a weak point hit, while Catalyzer Link grants +60% Status Chance when aiming after an ability cast. These are different triggers and bonuses; consider them according to the weapon setup and conditions you can sustain.
Acquisition
Listed sources include Jupiter’s Ganymede Disruption Rotation B and the named Amalgam and Demolyst enemies. The listed chance for Rotation B is 11.11%; the individual enemy entries list 0.86%.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The critical and status bonuses depend on being Wall Latched.
- Fusion costs increase at each rank.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the bonuses to apply while not Wall Latched.
- Ranking it fully without considering how often the Wall Latch condition is usable in your build.
