Understand Ris
Useful when…
- Equip it in a dedicated Parazon slot when testing Requiem combinations against a Kuva Lich or Sister of Parvos.
- Track its remaining charges so you know when it becomes Defiled and unusable for its Parazon purpose.
What does Ris do, and when is it consumed?
Ris is a Requiem Mod, not a combat-stat upgrade. Requiem Mods help test the three-Requiem passphrase of a Kuva Lich or Sister of Parvos. A successful Requiem Mercy that sends the nemesis to its final confrontation consumes one charge from each equipped Requiem Mod. A full mod has three charges; after all are used, Ris becomes Defiled and cannot serve its Parazon purpose.
How do charges and equipment work?
Ris has no polarity or mod-capacity drain and does not use ordinary Endo fusion progression. Its displayed native rank counts charges already consumed: remaining charges equal three minus that rank. Requiem Mods use dedicated Parazon slots, with up to three distinct mods equipped; duplicate copies of Ris cannot fill multiple slots. After three charges are spent, its Defiled state means it is no longer usable for its Parazon function. Supported recycling or transmutation are separate from using it in an encounter.
How should you plan its use?
Use Ris as one part of a three-mod passphrase test, and remember that each equipped Requiem loses a charge when the successful Mercy advances the nemesis to its final confrontation. The passphrase contains three different Requiems, and murmurs reveal which Requiems are present but not their order; players test and swap mod positions until a Mercy succeeds. Ris is not a wildcard, so it does not stand in for an arbitrary Requiem. The entry gives no specific passphrase or guaranteed encounter result.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Each successful advancing Requiem Mercy consumes one of Ris's three charges if it is equipped.
- Defiled Ris can no longer be used for its Parazon purpose, though recycling and supported transmutation are separate options.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating native rank as an Endo-upgraded combat level instead of charges already consumed.
- Equipping duplicate copies of Ris or expecting it to act as a wildcard.
- Forgetting that all equipped Requiem Mods lose a charge when the successful Mercy advances the nemesis.
- Continuing to plan around a Defiled Ris as if it still had Parazon charges.
