Understand Shell Compression
Useful when…
- Increase a compatible shotgun’s ammunition reserve.
Effect and use
The bonus is +15% maximum ammunition at rank 0, +60% at rank 3, and +90% at rank 5. It changes ammunition capacity only; the listed effect does not add damage or alter firing behavior.
Slot and rank investment
This Uncommon shotgun mod uses the Exilus slot, has Naramon polarity, base drain 2, and a maximum rank of 5. The listed example costs rise from 80 Endo and 3,864 Credits for rank 2 to 3, to 320 Endo and 15,456 Credits for rank 4 to 5. Stop at a rank that gives useful reserve capacity without pulling resources from upgrades you value more.
Restrictions and comparison
Shell Compression cannot be equipped with Flawed Shell Compression. The flawed version is a separate, weaker option: it tops out at +12% capacity and rank 3. Shell Compression’s listed drop sources include several heavy gunner and warden enemies; the source list does not guarantee availability in every current game state.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Consumes a shotgun Exilus slot.
- Higher ranks cost progressively more Endo and Credits.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating ammunition capacity as damage or magazine size.
- Equipping it alongside the incompatible flawed version.
