Understand Tether Grenades
Useful when…
- Tether groups of nearby enemies with Penta grenades.
- Use the higher ranks when the wider reach and five-target limit suit your crowd-control needs.
Effect and rank scaling
At rank 0, a grenade tethers up to 2 enemies from 4 m away. Rank 3 raises that to 4 enemies from 7 m, and rank 5 reaches up to 5 enemies from 9 m. The description does not specify tether duration or damage, so the mod should be understood as a tethering effect rather than a damage bonus.
Fit and investment
This Rare Penta mod uses an Exilus slot, has Naramon polarity, and starts at base drain 2. The rank examples show rising costs: 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits for the first step, 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits from rank 2 to 3, and 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits from rank 4 to 5. The main listed benefit of ranking is more tethered enemies and greater reach.
Compatibility and alternative effect
Tether Grenades explicitly cannot be equipped with Napalm Grenades. Napalm Grenades are described as leaving a burning patch on impact, a different grenade effect.
Acquisition
The supplied drop list names several Corpus arena enemies, including 002-Er, Armis Ulta, and Auditor. Each listed enemy entry gives a 1.25% chance; those figures describe the provided entries and do not establish availability beyond them.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Consumes the Penta’s Exilus slot.
- Cannot be equipped with Napalm Grenades.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting a damage or burning effect from Tether Grenades; the listed effect is tethering.
- Attempting to equip it with Napalm Grenades.
