Understand Worm Away
Useful when…
- Test it as one of up to three distinct Antivirus mods against a Technocyte Coda.
- Keep track of its remaining uses before relying on it for another confrontation.
What it does and when charges are spent
Antivirus mods help identify the one mod that works against a Technocyte Coda. After a successful Antivirus Mercy advances the disinfection meter to 100% and sends the Coda to its final confrontation, the effective Antivirus mod loses one of its three charges. Worm Away’s rank reflects charges already consumed, not an Endo upgrade. At three consumed charges it becomes Depleted and cannot serve its Parazon purpose.
Equipping and practical use
It occupies a dedicated Antivirus slot on the Parazon. You can equip up to three distinct Antivirus mods, but not duplicate copies of the same one. These mods have no polarity and use no capacity. The Coda is vulnerable to only one Antivirus mod, so after identifying the effective one, the other two can be replaced with Potency mods.
Managing a depleted mod
A Depleted Worm Away is no longer usable for its Parazon purpose. Recycling or supported transmutation are separate options; neither restores its charge for use. Keep the distinction between a charge-consuming progression state and ordinary mod ranking in mind when deciding whether to retain it.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Using a charge is tied to a successful Antivirus Mercy that advances the Coda to its final confrontation; failed testing does not meet the stated consumption condition.
- Depleted mods cannot be used for their Antivirus purpose.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating its rank as an Endo-upgrade level rather than charges already spent.
- Equipping duplicate copies, or expecting a Depleted copy to work.
- Assuming all three equipped Antivirus mods lose charges after a successful stage; only the effective one does.
