Understand Shimenawa's Reminiscence
Useful when…
- Boosting Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attacks after using an Elemental Skill.
- Adding ATK with two pieces when the four-piece Energy condition is undesirable.
What do the bonuses do?
Two pieces grant 18% ATK. With four pieces, using an Elemental Skill consumes 15 Energy if the character has at least 15 Energy, then increases Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack damage by 50% for 10 seconds. The effect cannot trigger again during that duration. If the character has less than 15 Energy, the stated Energy cost and damage increase do not trigger.
When is it useful, and what is the tradeoff?
Consider the four-piece effect when the character can deal a substantial share of their damage through the three boosted attack types during its 10-second window. The cost is 15 Energy on Skill use, so weigh the attack bonus against the Burst availability that Energy would otherwise support. Song of Days Past is a different role: its four-piece effect records healing and later boosts up to five attacks, so it is relevant to a healing character rather than a direct substitute for Shimenawa's attack-focused bonus.
What should you check before equipping it?
The four-piece effect is not a general damage bonus: it names only Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks. Do not assume it boosts Elemental Skill or Burst damage. Also check current Energy before the Skill; the stated effect requires at least 15 Energy and spends 15 when it triggers.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The four-piece bonus consumes 15 Energy when its threshold is met.
- Its 10-second attack bonus cannot be triggered again during that duration.
- The bonus applies only to Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack damage.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the four-piece effect triggers below 15 Energy.
- Treating the 50% increase as a bonus to every damage source.
- Ignoring the Energy spent when planning Burst availability.
