Chiori

Off-field Geo damage dealer

Released Mar 13, 2024

Chiori creates Tamoto with her Elemental Skill and deals additional Geo damage when party attacks connect. Consider her when you want persistent Skill damage, especially in a party with a nearby Geo Construct that can summon a second Tamoto.

Chiori GUIDE

Understand Chiori

Useful when…

  • Adding off-field Geo Skill damage through Tamoto and coordinated attacks.
  • Using a Geo Construct to summon one additional Tamoto.
  • Briefly taking the field for Geo-infused attacks.

How her Skill and follow-up work

Fluttering Hasode dashes, sweeps for AoE Geo damage, and summons Tamoto for 17 seconds; Tamoto attacks nearby opponents every 3.6 seconds and scales from both ATK and DEF. If a Geo Construct is nearby or created while Tamoto is active, one additional Tamoto appears beside the active character, with its duration tracked independently. After the upward sweep, pressing Skill triggers Tapestry: it switches to the next roster character and lets party Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks trigger up to two coordinated AoE Geo Skill hits over eight seconds, at most one every two seconds. Pressing Normal Attack instead gives Chiori Geo infusion for five seconds. If she remains on field without either input, infusion triggers by default.

When to use her Burst and passives

Her Burst is a direct AoE Geo hit with damage based on ATK and DEF; its listed energy cost is 50 and cooldown is 13.5 seconds. A nearby party member creating a Geo Construct gives Chiori 20% Geo DMG Bonus for 20 seconds. This makes construct creation useful both for the extra Tamoto and for her damage bonus. Her outfit or glider passive grants the party 10% Movement SPD outside Domains, Trounce Domains, and Spiral Abyss, provided someone wears a non-default outfit or a glider other than Wings of First Flight; the effect does not stack.

Investment and play considerations

For damage centered on her Skill, prioritize combat2; it improves the sweep and Tamoto hits, including the coordinated hit that uses the sweep's damage. Raise combat3 when you want the Burst's AoE hit to contribute more. Normal Attack investment is more relevant if you deliberately keep Chiori on field using her five-second Geo infusion. The Skill's 16-second cooldown exceeds Tamoto's 17-second base duration only slightly, but the second Tamoto has its own duration count.

Common execution errors

Do not assume the second Tamoto appears without a nearby Geo Construct. The coordinated Tapestry hit requires a party member's Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attack to hit an opponent; it is capped at two hits per effect. Choosing Normal Attack after the Skill sweep gives Chiori field time and infusion, while pressing Skill switches to the next character, so choose based on whether she should stay on field.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Her extra Tamoto and Geo damage bonus depend on Geo Construct creation or proximity.
  • Tapestry damage requires attack hits during its short eight-second window.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Expecting a second Tamoto without a nearby or newly created Geo Construct.
  • Using Normal Attack after the Skill sweep when the intended action was to switch and trigger Tapestry.
  • Assuming Tapestry attacks can trigger more than twice per activation.

Tailor-Made

Gain different effects depending on the next action you take within a short duration after using Fluttering Hasode's upward sweep. If you Press the Elemental Skill, you will trigger the Tapestry effect. If you Press your Normal Attack, the Tailoring effect will be triggered instead.

Tapestry
· Switches to the next character in your roster.
· Grants all your party members "Seize the Moment": When your active party member's Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, and Plunging Attacks hit a nearby opponent, "Tamoto" will execute a coordinated attack, dealing 100% of Fluttering Hasode's upward sweep DMG as AoE Geo DMG at the opponent's location. DMG dealt this way is considered Elemental Skill DMG.
· "Seize the Moment" lasts 8s, and 1 of "Tamoto"'s coordinated attack can be unleashed every 2s. 2 such coordinated attacks can occur per "Seize the Moment" effect duration.

Tailoring
· Chiori gains Geo infusion for 5s.

When on the field, if Chiori does not either Press her Elemental Skill or use a Normal Attack within a short time after using Fluttering Hasode's upward sweep, the Tailoring effect will be triggered by default.

The Finishing Touch

When a nearby party member creates a Geo Construct, Chiori will gain 20% Geo DMG Bonus for 20s.

Brocaded Collar's Beauteous Silhouette

When any party member is wearing an outfit apart from their default outfit, or is wearing a wind glider other than the Wings of First Flight, your party members will obtain the Swift Stride effect: Movement SPD is increased by 10%.
This effect does not take effect in Domains, Trounce Domains, and the Spiral Abyss. Swift Stride does not stack.
