Kamisato Ayato

Hydro sword character with an on-field Normal Attack state and field burst

Released Mar 30, 2022

Ayato is a Hydro sword character whose skill converts his rapid attacks into AoE Hydro damage for a limited stance, while his burst rains Hydro blades over an area and boosts Normal Attack damage for characters within it. Consider him when you want a brief on-field Hydro attack window or a burst that supports Normal Attack users.

Kamisato Ayato GUIDE

Understand Kamisato Ayato

Useful when…

  • Dealing rapid AoE Hydro damage during Takimeguri Kanka.
  • Applying Hydro damage over an area with Kamisato Art: Suiyuu.
  • Boosting Normal Attack damage for characters inside his burst field.
  • Regenerating Energy while off field when his Energy is below 40.

What does his skill state change?

Kamisato Art: Kyouka shifts Ayato and leaves a watery illusion that explodes if opponents are nearby or after its duration. Ayato then enters Takimeguri Kanka, converting his Normal Attacks into AoE Hydro damage that cannot be overridden. Shunsuiken hits grant Namisen stacks, which increase their damage based on Ayato’s current Max HP; the starting maximum is four stacks, and one stack can be gained through Shunsuiken every 0.1 seconds. Namisen ends when the state ends. During the state Ayato has increased resistance to interruption, but cannot use Charged or Plunging Attacks. Leaving the field clears the state; using Kyouka again replaces the current state.

What does his burst and passive add?

Kamisato Art: Suiyuu creates an area where Bloomwater Blades repeatedly attack opponents with Hydro damage and increase the Normal Attack damage of characters inside. The supplied values list an 18-second duration, 20-second cooldown, and 80 Energy cost. His passive grants two Namisen stacks after Kyouka and, when the watery illusion explodes, grants Namisen up to the maximum possible stacks. Another passive restores two Energy to Ayato every second while he is off field and below 40 Energy. His cooking passive gives an 18% chance of an additional Suspicious dish when he cooks a dish perfectly.

Which talents merit investment?

The skill track governs the Kyouka and Shunsuiken damage values; the burst track governs Suiyuu’s Hydro blade damage and Normal Attack bonus. Ayato’s ordinary Normal Attack talent is a separate track from his skill’s Normal Attack conversion, so weigh its cost against how much you use his base attacks outside the skill state. Ascension advances through six stages; the listed examples include Varunada Lazurite, Sakura Bloom, Handguards, and Dew of Repudiation. The supplied level 9-to-10 talent example costs 700,000 Mora, materials, a weekly talent item, and a Crown of Insight, making full investment a meaningful resource choice.

What conditions can disrupt use?

The skill state ends if Ayato leaves the field, and he cannot Charged or Plunging Attack while in it. Namisen stacks are temporary and disappear with the state. His burst’s Normal Attack bonus applies to characters within its area, so those characters must be there to benefit. Mualani, Nilou, and Furina appear as Hydro comparison candidates, but only their element, weapon type, and rarity are supplied; those facts alone do not establish that they duplicate Ayato’s skill stance or burst buff.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Kyouka’s six-second stance prevents Charged and Plunging Attacks and ends when Ayato leaves the field.
  • Suiyuu costs 80 Energy and has a 20-second cooldown.
  • The burst’s Normal Attack bonus requires characters to be within its area.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Switching Ayato out during Takimeguri Kanka and expecting the state to persist.
  • Trying to use Charged or Plunging Attacks during the skill state.
  • Assuming the burst’s Normal Attack bonus applies outside its field.

Kamisato Art: Kyouka · Elemental skill

Kamisato Ayato shifts positions and enters the Takimeguri Kanka state.
After this shift, he will leave a watery illusion at his original location. After it is formed, the watery illusion will explode if opponents are nearby or after its duration ends, dealing AoE Hydro DMG.

Takimeguri Kanka
In this state, Kamisato Ayato uses his Shunsuiken to engage in blindingly fast attacks, causing DMG from his Normal Attacks to be converted into AoE Hydro DMG. This cannot be overridden.
It also has the following properties:
·After a Shunsuiken attack hits an opponent, it will grant Ayato the Namisen effect, increasing the DMG dealt by Shunsuiken based on Ayato's current Max HP. The initial maximum number of Namisen stacks is 4, and 1 stack can be gained through Shunsuiken every 0.1s. This effect will be dispelled when Takimeguri Kanka ends.
·Kamisato Ayato's resistance to interruption is increased.
·Unable to use Charged or Plunging Attacks.

Takimeguri Kanka will be cleared when Ayato leaves the field. Using Kamisato Art: Kyouka again while in the Takimeguri Kanka state will reset and replace the pre-existing state.
