Understand Kuki Shinobu
Useful when…
- Healing the active character while applying Electro nearby
- Repeated Electro damage from a following skill ring
- Short AoE Electro burst, especially when Shinobu is at or below half HP
Skill effects and HP condition
Sanctifying Ring costs 30% of Shinobu's current HP at the listed talent level, but skill use cannot reduce her below 20% HP. The ring follows the active character, deals nearby Electro damage every 1.5 seconds, and heals active characters in its area based on Shinobu's Max HP. Its listed duration is 12 seconds and cooldown is 15 seconds. At 50% HP or lower, her burst's field lasts longer, and her Healing Bonus rises by 15%.
Healing, damage, and build implications
Her ring's healing scales from Max HP, while Heart's Repose adds healing equal to 75% of her Elemental Mastery and increases the ring's damage by 25% of Elemental Mastery. Thus HP supports the listed base healing and burst damage, while Elemental Mastery also improves ring healing and damage. The burst deals continuous damage based on Max HP and lasts 2 seconds normally or 3.5 seconds if Shinobu has 50% HP or less when cast; its cooldown is 15 seconds and it costs 60 Energy at the listed talent level. These mechanics support considering skill investment for recurring healing and ring effects, and burst investment if you use its field; normal-attack investment is relevant chiefly when you use her sword attacks.
Practical limits
The ring only heals active characters within its area, so the active character needs to remain close enough to benefit. Skill use consumes current HP, though its floor prevents that cast from taking Shinobu below 20%. Low HP improves her healing bonus and extends her burst, but is not required to use the skill. The listed upgrade examples show each combat talent can be raised to level 10; the level 9-to-10 example costs 700,000 Mora, talent materials, Tears of the Calamitous God, and a Crown of Insight.
Related Electro characters
Iansan is an Electro polearm user, Varesa an Electro catalyst user, and Clorinde an Electro sword user. Their element or weapon details do not establish that they provide Shinobu's combination of following ring healing and periodic Electro damage.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Skill use spends a share of Shinobu's current HP, with a 20% floor for that cost.
- Healing requires an active character to be within the ring's area.
- The burst is brief and costs 60 Energy; its longer duration requires HP at or below 50% when cast.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the ring to heal off-field characters; its healing is for active characters in its area.
- Treating the HP cost as a fixed amount rather than 30% of current HP, or overlooking the 20% HP floor.
- Casting the burst above 50% HP and expecting its longer duration.
