Skill- or Burst-triggered ATK and CRIT DMG Claymore
Released Jan 1, 2025
A Thousand Blazing Suns is a 5-star Claymore with CRIT Rate as its secondary stat. Using an Elemental Skill or Burst activates six seconds of ATK and CRIT DMG increases. Elemental Normal or Charged Attack hits can extend that duration, and Nightsoul’s Blessing strengthens the effect and pauses its countdown while the wielder is off-field. Consider it when the wielder can trigger the effect and use those conditions; its strongest behavior is specifically tied to Nightsoul’s Blessing.
Claymore users who can activate the effect with an Elemental Skill or Burst.
Wielders who deal Elemental Normal or Charged Attack hits during the effect.
Wielders who enter Nightsoul’s Blessing and can benefit from the stronger effect and paused off-field timer.
How is Scorching Brilliance activated and extended?
At refinement 1, using an Elemental Skill or Burst grants 20% CRIT DMG and 28% ATK for six seconds; the effect can trigger once every 10 seconds. While it is active, Normal or Charged Attacks that deal Elemental DMG extend its duration by two seconds, at most once per second and by up to six seconds total. In Nightsoul’s Blessing, the effect is increased by 75%, and its duration does not count down while the wielder is off-field.
Which attacks benefit from the condition?
Duration extension requires a Normal or Charged Attack that deals Elemental DMG. Physical Normal or Charged Attacks do not meet that stated condition. Skill or Burst use activates the effect, but the extension is a separate condition. The Nightsoul’s Blessing clause both increases the effect and pauses its off-field countdown; it does not change the listed trigger or the once-per-10-second trigger interval.
What does refinement change?
At refinement 5, the activation gives 40% CRIT DMG and 56% ATK before the Nightsoul’s Blessing increase. The same extension rules apply at every refinement. Refinement costs include sacrificing another copy of the weapon and Mora in the supplied examples. Ascension is a separate progression from stage 0 to 6, with costs listed for selected transitions. Ascension develops the weapon generally; refinement specifically increases the effect values.
How does it compare with other Claymores?
A Teaspoon of Transcendence provides ATK and Charged Attack-hit stacks for Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl reaction damage. Akuoumaru boosts Elemental Burst DMG based on the whole party’s combined maximum Energy capacity, up to a refinement-dependent cap. “Ultimate Overlord’s Mega Magic Sword” grants ATK, with an additional increase based on Melusines helped in Merusea Village. These weapons have distinct conditions; they do not share Scorching Brilliance’s Skill/Burst trigger or Nightsoul’s Blessing behavior.
Limitations and tradeoffs
The initial effect lasts six seconds and can trigger only once every 10 seconds.
Duration extension requires Elemental Normal or Charged Attack hits; the added Nightsoul’s Blessing benefit is conditional.
Common mistakes to avoid
Expecting physical Normal or Charged Attacks to extend the effect; the attacks must deal Elemental DMG.
Treating the Nightsoul’s Blessing enhancement as unconditional.
