Understand Amenoma Kageuchi
Useful when…
- Consider it for a sword wielder who casts Elemental Skills before using their Burst and wants the passive’s Energy return.
- Plan around the seed limit and 30-second lifetime if relying on more than one Skill to build the return.
How are Succession Seeds gained and spent?
Casting an Elemental Skill grants one seed, with the effect limited to once every five seconds. Each seed lasts 30 seconds, and up to three can exist at once. After the wielder uses an Elemental Burst, all seeds are consumed; two seconds later, the character regains Energy for each seed. At refinement 1, that is 6 Energy per seed, or 18 Energy if three seeds are consumed; at refinement 5 it is 12 per seed, or 36 for three. These totals follow directly from the listed per-seed amount and three-seed maximum.
What play pattern does it support?
The passive rewards casting Skills before the Burst, so it is relevant to a wielder whose combat sequence naturally allows those casts. It does not restore Energy merely for casting a Skill; the seeds are converted only after the Burst, with the stated two-second delay. Aquila Favonia instead has a Physical DMG Bonus secondary stat, an ATK increase, and a recovery/damage effect triggered by taking damage, so its condition and emphasis differ. Athame Artis boosts Burst CRIT DMG and grants ATK effects when a Burst hits, including an ATK increase for nearby active party members; it does not share Amenoma’s seed-based Energy return.
Ascension and refinement choices
Ascension improves the weapon’s level and base stats. Refinement raises the Energy restored per consumed seed from 6 to 12, while leaving the listed seed count, five-second trigger interval, and 30-second duration unchanged. Each refinement requires another Amenoma Kageuchi copy, so weigh the added Energy against using that copy elsewhere. Refinement is especially relevant when the wielder repeatedly benefits from the passive’s return.
What limits the return?
The passive can hold at most three seeds, each with a 30-second lifetime, and a Burst consumes all seeds together. Using a Burst with fewer seeds means fewer Energy is restored. A Skill cast less than five seconds after the previous eligible cast does not create another seed under the stated trigger interval. The passive does not state that it reduces the Burst’s cost or grants Energy to other party members.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The Energy return depends on gaining seeds with Skills and spending them on a Burst.
- Seeds are capped at three, expire after 30 seconds, and the return arrives two seconds after the Burst.
- Refinement improves Energy per seed but consumes additional copies.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not expect Energy immediately when casting a Skill; seeds are consumed by the Burst and return Energy two seconds later.
- Do not assume more than three seeds can be stored or that a seed lasts beyond 30 seconds.
- Do not count one seed as the full three-seed return.
