Angelos' Heptades

Shield-triggered team damage support catalyst

Released May 20, 2026

Angelos’ Heptades is a five-star catalyst with ATK as its secondary stat. When its wielder creates a shield, it grants a timed DMG increase to the active party member, based on the wielder’s ATK, and restores Energy to the wielder. Consider it when the catalyst user can create shields and the party can make use of the active-member bonus.

Understand Angelos' Heptades

Useful when…

  • Consider it for a catalyst wielder who can create a shield and support the active character’s damage.
  • Build ATK on the wielder if seeking a larger Pathfinder’s Light bonus, while recognizing that the effect has a stated cap.
  • For its Hexerei: Secret Rite clause, consider whether an owned Hexerei character will be off-field in the party.

What happens when the wielder creates a shield?

Creating a shield grants Pathfinder’s Light for 20 seconds. At refinement 1, the active party member’s DMG increases by 10% for every 1,000 ATK the wielder has, up to 26%; at refinement 5, the rate is 22% per 1,000 ATK and the cap is 58%. The wielder also gains Guide’s Contentment, restoring 14 Energy at refinement 1 or 18 at refinement 5. That Energy effect can trigger once every 14 seconds, can also be triggered by opening any type of chest outside combat, and can activate while the wielder is off-field.

Who can benefit from the support effect?

The DMG increase is stated for the active party member, so its direct support use is to have a damage dealer active while Pathfinder’s Light is available. When the party possesses Hexerei: Secret Rite effects, the wielder’s own Hexerei character can receive 50% of Pathfinder’s Light’s DMG increase while off-field. A Thousand Floating Dreams offers different support: nearby party members other than its wielder gain Elemental Mastery, while the wielder’s own bonus depends on the party’s elemental types. Ash-Graven Drinking Horn instead has HP as its secondary stat and adds periodic AoE damage based on Max HP when an attack hits. Neither comparison duplicates Angelos’ shield-triggered active-member bonus.

Ascension and refinement priorities

Ascension improves the catalyst’s level and base stats. Refinement raises the ATK increase, the DMG increase per 1,000 ATK, the DMG cap, and the Energy restoration. Each step consumes another Angelos’ Heptades copy, so the investment is most relevant when the shield-triggered support and Energy effects are regularly used. At refinement 1, the support effect already has a defined duration and cap.

What conditions can be missed?

Pathfinder’s Light begins when the wielder creates a shield, not simply when they are equipped with the weapon. Its scale depends on the wielder’s ATK and the effect’s refinement-specific cap. The Hexerei clause names the wielder’s own Hexerei character while off-field and requires the party to possess Hexerei: Secret Rite effects; it is not a general bonus for every off-field party member. The chest trigger for Energy is explicitly outside combat.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Pathfinder’s Light requires the wielder to create a shield and lasts 20 seconds.
  • The active-member DMG bonus scales with the wielder’s ATK but stops at a refinement-specific cap.
  • Refinement improves several passive values but requires another copy.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Do not assume Pathfinder’s Light activates without the wielder creating a shield.
  • Do not assume the wielder’s ATK raises the bonus without limit; the passive gives a cap.
  • Do not apply the Hexerei clause to every off-field character or overlook its party condition.
