Elegy for the End

Five-star support bow that turns the wielder’s Elemental Skill and Burst hits into team buffs. Consider it when a bow user can build sigils reliably and the party benefits from both ATK and Elemental Mastery.

Released Mar 17, 2021

Elegy for the End combines Energy Recharge with personal Elemental Mastery and a party-wide buff. Its value comes from triggering its four-sigil effect while the wielder is active or off-field; it is not primarily a bow for Normal or Charged Attack damage.

Understand Elegy for the End

Useful when…

  • Support a party that benefits from both ATK and Elemental Mastery.
  • Equip a bow user whose Skill or Burst hits can build four sigils during a rotation.

How do the sigils and buff work?

At R1 the bow grants its wielder 60 Elemental Mastery. Hits from the wielder’s Elemental Skill or Burst generate a Sigil of Remembrance, at most once every 0.2 seconds; this can happen off-field. Four sigils are consumed to grant nearby party members 100 Elemental Mastery and 20% ATK for 12 seconds. After activation, the wielder cannot gain sigils for 20 seconds. The same-type Millennial Movement buffs do not stack. Refinement increases these values, reaching 120 personal EM, 200 party EM, and 40% ATK at R5.

Who can use it effectively?

Its trigger asks for Skill or Burst hits, not a particular attack mode, and can activate off-field. That makes it a support option when the wielder’s abilities continue hitting after switching characters. The party buff is broad, but its EM component matters most when party damage or reactions use EM, while the ATK component benefits ATK-scaling damage. The weapon’s Energy Recharge secondary stat also supports Burst access; exact needs depend on the character and rotation.

What should be upgraded first?

Weapon ascension improves the weapon’s base stats, while refinement strengthens the effect: each rank adds 15 personal EM, 25 party EM, and 5 percentage points of ATK buff. Refinement consumes another copy, so it is a substantial resource choice; keep a copy available if another bow user needs it. Ascension materials are listed across the weapon’s stages, and refinement costs also require Mora.

How does it differ from other bows?

Alley Hunter rewards staying off-field and loses its damage bonus after the wielder spends time on-field; it has ATK as its secondary stat and does not supply this party EM/ATK buff. Amos’ Bow instead boosts Normal and Charged Attack damage, with additional scaling based on arrow flight time. Aqua Simulacra grants HP and a nearby-opponent damage bonus that works on- or off-field. These serve different damage conditions and are not interchangeable descriptions of Elegy’s support effect.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • The four-sigil party buff has a 20-second lockout after activation.
  • The wielder must land Skill or Burst hits to build sigils; its passive does not directly specialize in Normal or Charged Attack damage.
  • Refinements require duplicate copies and increase the buff incrementally.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Expecting the party buff from any hit; only the wielder’s Elemental Skill or Burst hits generate sigils.
  • Assuming the buff can be refreshed immediately after activation; sigils are unavailable for 20 seconds.
  • Refining away every copy without considering another bow user who could use the support effect.
