Understand Mountain-Bracing Bolt
Useful when…
- Polearm users who deal Elemental Skill damage and have nearby party members using Skills.
- Exploration where reduced climbing stamina consumption is useful.
Skill damage effects
At R1, the weapon increases Elemental Skill DMG by 12%. After other nearby party members use Elemental Skills, the wielder’s Skill DMG increases by a further 12% for 8 seconds. Both listed percentages rise to 24% at R5. The wielder’s Energy Recharge secondary stat is separate from these damage effects.
Climbing and practical fit
The weapon decreases climbing stamina consumption by 15%. That utility does not depend on the Skill DMG trigger described in the passive. For combat use, the additional timed bonus depends on other nearby party members using Elemental Skills, so the weapon fits better when that condition occurs during the wielder’s Skill damage window.
Investment priorities
Ascension progresses through stage 6. Refinement consumes a duplicate and improves the base Skill DMG bonus and the bonus triggered by nearby party members’ Skills, while the climbing stamina reduction remains 15% at each listed rank. Refinement therefore matters most when the Skill bonuses are useful; ascension is the separate weapon progression.
Distinguish other polearm effects
The Catch improves Burst DMG and Burst CRIT Rate. Ballad of the Fjords grants Elemental Mastery when the party includes at least three different Elemental Types. Beginner’s Protector has no secondary stat or listed passive. These do not share Mountain-Bracing Bolt’s nearby Skill-use condition or climbing utility.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The secondary Skill DMG increase requires other nearby party members to use Elemental Skills.
- The climbing stamina reduction does not increase combat damage.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the extra Skill bonus triggers from the wielder’s own Skill use.
- Expecting refinement to improve the fixed 15% climbing stamina reduction.
