Understand Mouun's Moon
Useful when…
- A bow user whose damage comes from Elemental Bursts.
- A party configuration whose combined maximum Energy capacity can reach a useful part of the weapon’s cap.
How the party-capacity scaling works
At R1, each point of the party’s combined maximum Energy capacity adds 0.12% Elemental Burst DMG for the wielder, capped at 40%. At R5, the rate is 0.24% per point and the cap is 80%. The calculation uses maximum Energy capacity across the whole party, not current Energy. The passive increases the wielder’s Burst DMG, not the whole party’s.
When it is useful
Its value depends on both the character dealing Burst damage and the party’s combined capacity. If the wielder’s damage is mainly outside the Burst, the passive does not target that damage. A party with lower combined capacity reaches a lower bonus; the cap prevents further gains once the rank-specific maximum is reached.
Ascension and refinement
Ascension advances through stage 6. Refinement consumes another copy and raises both the per-capacity rate and the maximum Burst DMG bonus. At R1 the cap is 40%; at R5 it is 80%. Refinement is thus most meaningful for a Burst user and party where the scaling can be used, while ascension remains the weapon’s direct progression.
Other bow conditions
Alley Hunter builds damage while its wielder remains off-field and loses the bonus with extended field time. Amos’ Bow boosts Normal and Charged Attacks and adds damage based on arrow flight time. Aqua Simulacra gives HP and a nearby-opponent damage bonus that also works off-field. Each targets conditions different from Mouun’s Moon’s party-capacity Burst scaling.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The bonus only applies to the wielder’s Elemental Burst DMG.
- The party’s combined maximum Energy capacity must be evaluated against the rank-specific cap.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Using current Energy instead of combined maximum Energy capacity when judging the passive.
- Assuming the bonus improves Normal or Charged Attack damage.
