Prospector's Drill

Healing-triggered ATK and elemental-damage polearm

Released Oct 17, 2023

Prospector’s Drill is a four-star polearm with an ATK secondary stat. Healing events grant Unity’s Symbols; using an Elemental Skill or Burst consumes them to grant ATK and All Elemental DMG Bonus for a short time. Consider it for a wielder who can gain healing-triggered symbols and use the resulting timed damage bonuses.

Understand Prospector's Drill

Useful when…

  • Build Unity’s Symbols from healing before using a Skill or Burst.
  • Use its per-symbol ATK and All Elemental DMG Bonus when both stats benefit the wielder.

Symbols and effect

At Rank 1, when the wielder is healed or heals another character, they gain a Unity’s Symbol lasting 30 seconds, up to three. Symbols can be gained while the wielder is off field. Using the wielder’s Elemental Skill or Burst consumes all symbols and grants Struggle for 10 seconds. Each symbol consumed grants 3% ATK and 7% All Elemental DMG Bonus. Struggle can trigger once every 15 seconds. The weapon has 43.7349 base ATK and an ATK secondary stat.

Use in combat

Healing is the setup condition; a Skill or Burst is the trigger that spends the stored symbols. The effect is strongest when symbols have accumulated before the ability is used, but the 15-second trigger limit still applies. Off-field symbol generation allows the wielder to gain them while another character is active; the wielder must still cast their own Skill or Burst to consume them.

Progression

Ascension progresses from stage 0 through 6, with supplied cost examples at stages 0→1, 3→4, and 5→6. Refinement raises both per-symbol bonuses: at Rank 5 each consumed symbol grants 7% ATK and 13% All Elemental DMG Bonus. Refinement consumes duplicate copies, and a higher refinement does not remove the healing, ability, or cooldown conditions. Ascension is the normal weapon progression; refine when the improved timed bonuses justify the copy cost.

Alternatives and limits

The Catch provides Burst DMG and Burst CRIT Rate without this weapon’s healing-symbol setup. Ballad of the Fjords grants Elemental Mastery when the party includes at least three different Elemental Types. Beginner’s Protector has no listed secondary stat or passive. These alternatives do not reproduce Prospector’s Drill’s combined per-symbol ATK and elemental-damage bonus; consider their distinct conditions and stat focus.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Requires healing to build symbols and a Skill or Burst to consume them.
  • Struggle can trigger only once every 15 seconds.
  • Refinement consumes duplicate copies.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Using a Skill or Burst before healing has generated symbols.
  • Assuming the effect triggers on every Skill or Burst despite the 15-second limit.
  • Counting symbol generation as requiring the wielder to be on field.
