Understand Prospector's Shovel
Useful when…
- Increase Electro-Charged DMG through its refinement effect.
- Support Lunar-Charged DMG, with an additional bonus under Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam.
Reaction bonuses
At Rank 1, the weapon increases Electro-Charged DMG by 48% and Lunar-Charged DMG by 12%. Under Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam, Lunar-Charged DMG receives an additional 12%. At Rank 5, these values are 96% for Electro-Charged, 24% for Lunar-Charged, and an additional 24% Lunar-Charged DMG under that Moonsign condition. Its listed base ATK is 42.401, with an ATK secondary stat.
When to use it
The named reaction damage is the relevant target; the effect does not state a general bonus to all attacks or all Elemental DMG. The extra Lunar-Charged bonus is conditional on Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam. If the wielder’s damage does not use Electro-Charged or Lunar-Charged, the supplied passive does not describe a benefit for that damage.
Improvement priorities
Ascension progresses from stage 0 through 6, with material examples for stages 0→1, 3→4, and 5→6. Refinement increases both reaction bonuses, reaching 96% Electro-Charged DMG and 24% Lunar-Charged DMG at Rank 5, plus the same 24% additional Lunar-Charged bonus under the stated Moonsign. Refinement consumes a duplicate copy at each step. Ascension advances the weapon itself; refinement is most directly relevant when the named reaction effects are central to its use.
Comparisons and limits
The Catch instead boosts Elemental Burst DMG and Burst CRIT Rate. Ballad of the Fjords gives Elemental Mastery if the party has at least three different Elemental Types. Beginner’s Protector has no listed passive or secondary stat. These options have different triggers and stat targets; neither the shared polearm type nor rarity makes them equivalent to a reaction-specific bonus.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Its passive targets only Electro-Charged and Lunar-Charged DMG.
- The additional Lunar-Charged bonus requires Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam.
- Refinement requires duplicate copies.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the reaction bonuses as a general increase to all damage.
- Applying the extra Lunar-Charged bonus without Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam.
- Refining it for a wielder that does not use either named reaction.
