Understand Prototype Crescent
Useful when…
- Gain a timed ATK increase after a Charged Attack hits a weak point.
- Use the accompanying Movement SPD increase during the ten-second effect.
Trigger and duration
At Rank 1, a Charged Attack hit on a weak point increases Movement SPD by 10% and ATK by 36% for 10 seconds. At Rank 5, Movement SPD remains 10% and the ATK increase reaches 72%. The weapon has 42.401 base ATK and an ATK secondary stat. The listed effect specifically requires a weak-point hit from a Charged Attack.
Practical handling
To activate the passive, the player must land a Charged Attack on a weak point. A Charged Attack that hits elsewhere does not meet the stated condition. The resulting ATK and Movement SPD bonuses last ten seconds, so the wielder’s combat benefits when it can use that window. The effect does not state an unconditional ATK bonus or a Skill/Burst-specific damage increase.
Ascension and refinement
Ascension progresses from stage 0 through 6; supplied cost examples are for stages 0→1, 3→4, and 5→6. Refinement raises the ATK bonus from 36% at Rank 1 to 72% at Rank 5. The 10% Movement SPD bonus and ten-second duration are unchanged in the listed ranks. Refinement consumes a duplicate copy at each step, so it is most relevant when weak-point hits are a reliable part of use; ascension is the regular weapon progression.
Alternatives and limits
Alley Hunter’s damage bonus builds while the wielder is off field and decreases after more than four seconds on field. Amos’ Bow increases Normal and Charged Attack DMG and adds damage based on arrow flight time. Aqua Simulacra grants a damage increase when opponents are nearby and works on or off field. These effects use different conditions; Prototype Crescent’s own ATK buff depends on hitting a weak point with a Charged Attack.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The ATK and Movement SPD bonuses require a weak-point Charged Attack hit.
- Its 10% Movement SPD bonus does not increase with refinement.
- Refinement consumes duplicate copies.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming any Charged Attack hit activates the passive.
- Treating the 10% Movement SPD increase as a refinement-scaling value.
- Expecting the temporary buff to persist beyond its ten-second duration.
