Understand Raven Bow
Useful when…
- A bow wielder who benefits from Elemental Mastery while fighting Hydro- or Pyro-affected opponents.
- A situational weapon when its status condition is regularly met and a higher-rarity comparison is not being used.
Effect and target condition
Raven Bow has Elemental Mastery as its secondary stat. It increases damage against opponents affected by Hydro or Pyro, from 12% at R1 to 24% at R5. The condition belongs to the opponent being hit. The input does not restrict the bonus to Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, Skills, or Bursts.
Practical fit
Consider it for combat where the bow wielder can benefit from Elemental Mastery and the enemy’s Hydro or Pyro status is present when damage is dealt. If that status is inconsistent, the passive’s contribution will also be inconsistent. The conditional bonus is tied to damage against affected opponents, not to team composition by itself.
Investment and alternatives
Ascension advances Raven Bow through stages 0–6. Refinement raises the conditional damage bonus and consumes another copy plus Mora. Compare the investment with how often the status condition is met. Alley Hunter has an ATK secondary stat and builds general DMG while the wielder is off field, then loses it during extended on-field time. Amos' Bow boosts Normal and Charged Attack DMG and adds damage based on arrow flight time. Aqua Simulacra grants a DMG increase while opponents are nearby, on or off field. They are comparisons with different stats and conditions, not direct equivalents.
Status check
A Hydro or Pyro character in the party does not itself establish that a target is affected by that element. Use the passive’s condition as written and account for the opponent’s status when choosing this bow.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The passive requires targets to be affected by Hydro or Pyro.
- Its Elemental Mastery and conditional bonus may not fit every bow wielder’s damage pattern.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the target status requirement is satisfied solely by a party member’s element.
- Refining without considering how often opponents are affected by Hydro or Pyro.
