Understand Royal Bow
Useful when…
- A bow wielder who can benefit from a stack-based CRIT Rate increase.
- A build where the CRIT Rate stacks' removal on a CRIT hit is acceptable.
Stack and reset behavior
Upon damaging an opponent, Royal Bow increases CRIT Rate by 8% per stack at R1, up to 5 stacks. A CRIT hit removes all stacks. At R5, each stack provides 16%. The weapon's secondary stat is ATK, and no stack duration is specified.
Practical fit
The effect builds CRIT Rate through damage to opponents and then loses all stacks when a CRIT hit occurs. Its value therefore depends on how this stack and reset pattern fits the wielder's use. The description does not identify whose CRIT hit causes the reset, so the trigger should not be assigned to a particular character.
Investment and comparisons
Weapon ascension advances through stages 0–6. Refinement raises CRIT Rate per stack from 8% to 16%. Alley Hunter builds a general DMG increase while its wielder is off field and loses it during extended on-field time. Amos' Bow increases Normal and Charged Attack DMG and adds an increase based on arrow time in flight. Aqua Simulacra grants DMG when opponents are nearby, whether its wielder is on or off field. These passives have different conditions from Royal Bow's stack and reset effect.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- A CRIT hit removes all CRIT Rate stacks.
- No duration for the stacks is specified.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assigning the CRIT-hit reset specifically to the wielder.
- Assuming the stacks expire on a particular timer.
- Treating the maximum stack value as persistent after a CRIT hit.
