Understand Royal Spear
Useful when…
- Consider it for a polearm wielder who makes repeated hits and can benefit from conditional CRIT Rate.
- Compare its effect with weapons that instead support Burst damage or grant Elemental Mastery under a party composition condition.
Effect and reset
Damaging an opponent adds a CRIT Rate stack, up to five. The per-stack value rises from 8% at R1 to 16% at R5. A CRIT Hit removes every stack, so the wielder must rebuild the bonus afterward.
Weapon profile
This 4-star polearm has 43.7349 base ATK and ATK as its secondary stat. Its conditional CRIT Rate can suit a wielder who makes repeated attacks, with the reset on a CRIT Hit shaping how long the bonus lasts.
Investment and alternatives
Ascension has six stages. Refinement consumes a duplicate Royal Spear and Mora; the examples list 1,000 Mora for R1 to R2 and 8,000 Mora for R4 to R5. Refinement raises CRIT Rate per stack without changing the five-stack cap or reset. The Catch instead increases Elemental Burst DMG and Burst CRIT Rate. Ballad of the Fjords grants Elemental Mastery when the party has at least three different Elemental Types. These weapons have different effects and conditions.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- CRIT Rate buildup vanishes completely on a CRIT Hit.
- Refinement increases per-stack CRIT Rate but does not change the reset behavior.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming five stacks remain after a CRIT Hit.
- Treating Ballad of the Fjords' three-Elemental-Type condition as unconditional.
